I wouldnt even contemplate going over 3k rpm unless you want permenant engine damage
Decat on STi = no (boost spikes)
MBC = waste of time unless you have a boost gauge and then its still a waste of time.
Remap = yes
Invalidate warranty = yes (all of it, not just part of)
Is the car a UK spec?

A re-map at Mocom Racing is £450.00 inclusive.
As has been mentioned be a little cautious after the decat and at the very least fit a KnockLink (or similar det monitoring device) and a boost gauge so you can see any overboost. Most Subaru's I've seen at this level of tune do experience some det usually around 5000 to 6000rpm and those that don't aren't running to their full potential as the ECU has already stamped it's authority and lowered the amount of timing is should run if the IAM was at 1 and in some cases lowered the boost.
If you don't mind the drive to North Weald I don't mind taking a look and logging a run to advise on how it's running at present Would also be a good opportunity to see some power curves of 06's I've mapped to see what you can expect from a re-map.

Assuming its a 2.5 litre
There's no need for an mbc, detrimental in fact as this car MUST be able to deal with the safety issues relating to charge temp, variable fuel quality etc. Its very important that all the ecu error codes are reconfigured to suit the remap and that certain ign compensation maps are suitably adjusted to suit.
You need to fit a Walbro pump, thats a must, that apart she will fly with a full decat and a good panel, no need for anything else and indeed not advisable on the std EJ257.
You will be fine driving through the rev range but limit yourself to about 0.5 bar boost, no problems at that, use Shell V Power or Tesco 99 fuel not 97 ron though. The std ecu is fueled plenty rich enough within those parameters and the car should be fine, go beyond and be wary though.
The last one I did Deltadashed at 367 bhp and 414 ft lbs torque, v nice. 30 degrees of air temp on the day as well.
