Default Poorly Scoob Help please...

Hi,

last week I noticed that my scoob had developed a slight whistle sound, at idle, not audible from inside the cabin, only when I got out to open/close the garage door. It's due a service in a couple of weeks so I didn't worry too much, power etc were fine.

Yesterday I noticed that there was a sort of whistle/whoosh now audible from inside the cabin, though only just, each time I accelerate. The steering also makes a groaning sound at low speed that it didn't before.

Power still seems fine, though I drove home very gently, and the brakes seem fine. I don't have to drive it again till Wednesday or Thursday when I can take it to the dealers, but it is about 20 miles. It sounds to me as if a hose has split or something, but I am pretty much clueless about what happens under the bonnet

Any ideas what the noise is, and will I be OK to get to the dealers?

Thanks for any help

RB

Kildare, thanks for that. I did top up the fluid and most of the noises have stopped, especially the moaning sound when turning the steering at low speed and revs.

There is still a whistle at idle though so maybe a belt is wearing a bit thin.
