Default changing oil wrx import

Hi all, i have recently bought a wrx classic import, today i have changed the plugs for platinum ngks and changed the fuel filter, the gear box oil is nice and clean (its had a new clutch before i bought it) but the engine oil is manky black and needs changing with the oil filter.
Before i change it is there anything i need to know or is it just a drain and fill up job? its just that i heard that i would need to disconnect the coil and turn it over for 1 min after ive refilled it? is this true? thanks.

best bet mate is use the search. There are so many answers out there about this.
Personally I just undo sump plug, remove old filter, prefil new filter whilst old oil is draining, replace sump plug, fit new filter, fill engine with approx 4 litres I think it is. Start engine.

My engine has currently got over 130k on it, but have no problems whatsoever.
