It finally happened yesterday..
after more then three years of driving MY97 2.0L GL (as a company car), fighting company car policy *****, begging dealer to find some "old shape" Impreza and finally getting it from Norway (they say it was the last non-turbo in Europe, LHD of course). Well, here it is, my new white 2MY00 2.0L RX. OK, it's not exactly mine - it's still a company car, and the colour wasn't the one I wanted, but as I said to myself "white Impreza is still better then green Opel".
So, I fitted it with Nakamichi MB-75 6 Disk in-dash CD changer and took out for the first spin...First impression was quite shocking. This car is nothing like my good old GL! More body roll, more understeer, the engine sounds...like a Honda Civic. OK, I understand, I still have to break it in and honestly, the engine is quite torqy even now, but the steering is absolute nightmare! And that noise at motorway speeds!...
Am I expecting too much? Or did I forget how it was to break in my old GL? The GL had 14 inch wheels and RX has 15. Also GL was automatic, and RX is manual...but could that make so big difference?!
Anybody to cheer me up?
