Default 97 turbo rear diff replacement with STI ?

Hi there !

I'm looking forward to replace my 1997 turbo wagon rear diff + casing + wheel shafts which are in bad condition.

From what I understand, I have two solutions :

- either fitting a classic STI rear tranny (suretrack R160) with shafts with no other mods

or

- fitting a new age STI rear tranny (suretrack R180) with shafts but either needing to fit the STI hubs + brakes as well or adapt STI shafts on turbo shaft nuts retaining turbo hubs + brakes.

Actually I cannot fit STI brakes for the belgian yearly technical inspection...

So what I'd need to know is with classic shape STI versions have the Suretrack R160 with 4.44 ratio to fit my 97 turbo wagon ?

I've seen some bits for sale but some indicate "STI v4 rear open diff" which is not exactly what I expect from a Suretrack, which is a L.S.D, isn't it ? After all, that's what I'm looking for, L.S.D.'s to improve traction...

Thanks for any advice !
