my 94 sti v1 crunches into 5th & pops out now & again! any idea wot this is?

 

Weak syncro probably
Depends if it can be replaced on its own though an access panel, not sure on subaru boxes, otherwise its a gearbox out job
Check the gearbox oil level first though, its that funny dipstick besides the intercooler

would low oil cause it to jump out of gear?

sounds like same sort of problem as on mine but jumps out of 3rd and 4th

 

i need a new gearbox

 

Yes low oil can lead to it jumping out of gear, if not topped up it can result in permenant damage

we tried the nut thing today! but when draining the gearbox oil we found 3 mini gold bullion bars! well steel not gold,not good.im after secondhand gearbox now. gearbox code is TY752VB3CA. can anyone help? cheers
