Default 2.5 just killed my box!

Yep,the thing everyone said would happen has happened,i've just killed my gearbox
It seems to be stuck in second, even though the stick moves about like it's in neutral. If you try and gate it when moving it just grinds badly. It does seem to go into other gears when stationary, but not too sure.
Has anyone had this problem? Also,my what are my options as to another box,as im a bit worried about putting in another standard one in with the 2.5.

Cheers,Tim

Your cheapest option would be probably to put in a six speed. But you may find the gearing then too short for your liking.

Sounds like a shift cable to me.

What sort of money do the six speeds go for,and will i need the rear diff?
How much does it affect the gearing,it's nice to get to 60 in second!

Shift Cable??? Where is the "Shift cable"?
The 5 speed doesn't have any cables for shifting.

Does it drive in second? (with the gear stick in the 2nd position)
Did you only notice it when you tried shifting to 3rd?

If yes, then I suspect you have broken the 1st/2nd shift rod fork.

Hi,its in second all the time, can't seem to select any other gear,or take it out of second. Think i'll have to byte the bullet abd get another box.

Cheers
