Default the next step!

Hi everyone.

thougfht i would introduce myself to everyone as im new to this site!

I have a 94 import WRX, thats done 50000i have already started to mod her.

So far i have only really gone for cosmetic mods, i have had some Defi gauges on the A-piller put in, a Dump valve, WRC muflaps, Air filter and 4inch exhaust and of course the ice.

No i want to move on to the performance side, was thinking of maybe getting the car chipped so i can make the most of what she has to offer but im finding it very difficult to find anywhere that will do it for my year car.

Any help would be great

Welcome to SNet

Not the most knowlegeable with classics, especially imports, but here goes. Is the 4" zorst just a BB ? If so, research getting the rest decat'd with a quality free flowing system and then look into remapping. Some older cars cannot be remapped I believe, so a new ECU may be called for, someone else confirm. If it hasn't already been done, a JDM import will need derestricting (112mph) and remapping for UK fuel (Jap fuel is 100RON) anyway, so you may as well get it done altogether. The DV will get you no performance gains whatsoever, and may make the car run badly and potentially cause damage. A free-flowing replacement panel in the OE intake is usually better up to 350bhp or so, after that you can consider Induction Kits, but these have a habit of damaging MAF's in classics. There are many benefits to uprating the handling of the car before the power, so a good suspension package including uprated ARB's will reap dividends, as well as some better brakes. Many just go up to the later spec Subaru 4 pots, but there's plenty of options depending on the size of your wallet.

If you want the car chipped, give Scoobyclinic a call
www.scoobyclinic.co.uk

If you can spen a little more cash go for a full replacement ECU such as
the Apexi Power FC and have that mapped.

Untill such time use Octane booster to avoid the car detting as it's
mapped for Jap fuel, which is 100 Ron

As already pointed out the brakes are poor for the power output so your
money would be well spent their before going any further with power increases, a decent set of 4 pot should set you back between £200/£300.
