With the hot weather, I have noticed the clutch pedal feeling lighter/ different. It happens during slow town driving / stuck in traffic and gets progressively worse the longer the stop start goes on. The clutch still operates fine but the feel is wrong. Once the car gets moving again the feel returns to normal. Something is getting too hot, my guess is the clutch fluid but I can't understand why. Any ideas ?

Does the bite point change?
What fluid are you using and when is the last time it got changed?

 

Are you running a full decat without the heatshield?

Dot 4.1 changed 2 years ago this July.
Its a left hooker so clutch and brake reservoirs are the other side of the decat.
Biting point doesn't change.

Clutch slave cylinder has a "damper" to help with smooth takeup (according to manual). The reality is that this is an orifice on the hydraulics to restrict fluid flow. If fluid gets hot it becomes less viscous and damping effect will be reduced which might explain a change in feel, can't say I've noticed anything on my Scoob in the recent warm spell.
