**** SUCKING MOTHER ****ERS
Well you will be the only person on here who has ever complained about Prosport.
I for one back them 100%, if you have a problem with them, then you take it up with them.

Are we saying here that prosport didn't offer 3 weeks warranty on the work they did?

That's shocking!

or... perhaps it's the "thanx for F**K aal, **** sucking mothers" attitude that might be hindering any attempts to claim a refund or even get the thing sorted?

[sigh]

no i was nice as pie on the phone to him but he refused all acknowledgement of blame. so i have just had to spend a further £650 at another unamed garage for a gearbox . so really if he had put a gearbox in the first place i would not of had to pay twice for same job .

the funny thing his how come he only did 5th gear for £650 but just had a box fitted for £650.

so you tell me who the rip off merchant is....

and well gearbox was stripped by other garage it doesnt even look like he put new parts in it .

so in my summary he his a rip off merchant end off....

you all take ure cars there at your own risk

how come it cost 650 quid?
Well, i think taking the gearbox out is like an 8 hour job on a scoob to do it properly, plus if it was 5th gear then it sounds like there would be no need for new parts, just torque up the bolt that came loose as this is a common problem on MY00 cars.
As for a 650 quid gearbox from another firm..... hmmmmm well it wouldnt have been new or parts added as just for a rebuild of a gearbox your looking at 1200 quid.
Who has been ripped off?
The fact is what sort of power is your car pushing out? as that could be a deciding factor to what happened to the gearbox, also what were you doing in 3rd gear at the time you lost 3/4/5? as they dont just go without warning.
As for Prosport, one of the best garages ive taken my car(s) to, no shortcuts, no hassle and great service, just ask anyone who takes their car their regulary

Unhappy

i dont know prosport at all but someone who doesnt warrant something for three week is SH*T ..
Why did you spend the money there if it wasnt warranted ... if you gotta problem with em take it to the consumers ...
Tony gearboxes can and do go with out warning had two go myself ,,, nailed it couple of days before then let go when goin slow like a grandad and a gearbox built is only around 300 plus vat, if you take it out yourself ,if no parts are needed ,eg torque the nut up thats why it was only 650 origianly (because labour costs)...
I personally dont think anyone has been ripped off by prosport they did the job ,,,,,now something else has failed (impreza boxes are sh*t anyway)
What has the new garage diagnosed the problem being anyway ... ???
i think maybe if you was not so accusing maybe prosport would have come to a conclusion with you (maybe not i dont know ) like i said i dont know them..

I'm sure if Prosport were approached concerning a job they had done on anyones car they would truly rectify anything they had previously done themselves.
These guys do performance rebuilds and servicing for a living and I for one trust them with my STI.
I do know that no company would take kindly to anyone F'ing and jeffing.
I dont know how you approached them or what was said to you concerning the gearbox they worked on but I am sure Prosport did the work they had to at the time.
No one likes having to spend large amounts of money on thier cars like you have done, especially as you feel twice. Hope this is now sorted.
I would still take your gearbox back to Prosport and ask Pete the owner to look at it to confirm or not if the case may be why it failed. I am sure if it is any of there doing he would be accomadating. (thats if you haven't burnt those bridges)

"**** SUCKING MOTHER ****ERS"

"no I was nice as pie on the phone to him but he refused all acknowledgement of blame."

LOL - there's a good chance that they'd already read your post.

I can't quite understand why you think that work on the 5th gear and then having problems with 3rd gear (full boost by any chance??) are related.

Having said that, one price seems quite expensive for the work you say it recieved, the other is astoundingly cheap.
I'd be lucky to find a WORKING box for £650, let alone fit it as well.

Get an engineers report on the failed box and match it to the description of work that Prosport have claimed.

Well ladies and Gents, been to Prosport this morning to drop off some brake pads that they had replaced for me with a set of theres before I collected mine in Chicago. That is service.
Well I thought I would ask what all this "Bad Mouthing" was about and it appears as usual there is 2 sides to this story , and I know which one I believe.

So I will use Prosport as usual knowing that the advice and service I recieve is 1st Class .
Enough said.

WTF

Prosport have been servicing my cars for the last 4 years with no problems what so ever!

You mentioned that they charged you £650 to put the box right, yet on the other thread you posted

prosport charged me £150 for doing 5th gear nut should of been more though but they said cos it was still doing it they only charged me that much but had it stripped for 6 hours
All they did was tighten the nut! and also under charged you!!

Some of the comments you have put are possibly liable!

As Tony said they are the Best Garage for miles!

Some thing fishy going on me thinks!

At your request, we carried out repairs and replaced the 5th gear. Peter then waited for you to collect the car for around 5.30pm Saturday evening (5 hours after closing time) the keys were handed over to you for you to test drive your car. When you returned to the garage, we showed you the 5th gear parts that had been replaced.

*As with all approved repair and service centres, work carried out by Prosport is covered by warranty.

A few weeks later you contacted Prosport claiming that 3rd and 4th gears had now gone. We didn’t think that this was related to the work recently carried out by us, but we wouldn’t no for sure until the gear box was stripped. Unfortunately, due to work load, we were unable to bring your car back in for two weeks.

We hadn’t heard anything from you after that, until a customer brought this post to our attention.

Our solicitor informed us that your comments are liable, and we ask you, that when posting comments on public forums in future, you tell the truth.

We do not wish to take any further action at this time.

Regards

Prosport
