I just received delivery of my Bell Euro 550, I noticed it picks up the 1 on the other side but the one infront that matters it dont seem to go off til Im past it, I spoke to networx auto and they said that some of the cameras are not fully functional that is why they dont go off earlier, he said they dont send out a full signal if there not fully functional.

Is this the case perhaps one of u can tell me if this is true, or have I got a dodgy one

It could be a false alarm that happens to occur near the camera. If the camera was operational you would surely get more than signal strenght 1. You could take friends RD to check if the camera is live or not.

 

My 550 is quiet good but i do not totaly trust it.
You must bear in mind that some camers are not turned on so it will not function on every trap.

Chuck a u turn and go past the camera the detector picked up on the opposite side of the road so that you can see from how far the detector picks up the signal. The other one probably had no film in it, or as dmel says the detector probably picked up something else and it was coincidence that you were going past a switched off camera.

mines bin very good.
I did gloucster to chepstow 8 cameras on the road it alaramed on 7 of them and not on one. thus i conclude 7 running and ready to nick u one not switched on.
As they say above don't rely 100% use it as an additional aide.
only had one laser alarm so far and never did see what caused it.
had it about 3 months.
very happy with it....got it as part of the group buy.
