Default fitting headers

is this an engine out job, everything i've read seems to say no; i may have to undo the engine mounts on the drivers side and jack the lump up to fit them initially but thats it. the only thing to check is loom clearance to ensure they don't get heat damaged?

No Ian it's not a engine out job as i watched Harvey's lot do mine but it can be a bit tight, what headers have you got and are you doing the up-pipe and down-pipe

I left at 5am at got home at 6pm (travelling at sensible speeds not speeding), it took about 3 1/2 hours to fit them but that did including wrapping the up-pipe & down-pipe (the headers were already done)

We normally allow 2hrs to remove an old set and replace with the ported, Option 2) including the purpose designed up-pipe, providing there is nothing else to do. I think Graham had the bacon butty interlude
If you were doing it at home using ramps then it could take half a day. Spray WD40 on all the up pipe nuts/studs/bolts the night before and again on the morning before you start. on some cars it is necessary to slack off the driver side engine mount and jack the engine to get the up-pipe in/out.
The headers are not the problem, it is the turbo connection to the up-pipe that can be difficult to get to.

I'd drive up there and get it done by people who have fitted them many times , not had a remap yet but that is being done on 13th May
