Question

Have got, but not yet fitted, a SS back box to MY00 WRX Wagon. I also fancy a de-cat center section and from the bbs there seems to be no difference between a SS and a Magnex.

So I think I will go for the Magnex....

Firstly, is this a sensible thing to do and will I see any power gain by taking out the cat?

Secondly, should I get the Magnex with or without a silencer box? The good people trying to sell me the center section say there is no difference in power but the noise is "better" without the silencer. BUT will it be too loud??

Get it without the box!!! I had the Magnex BB and then added the Centre shortly after - brilliant, makes a nice raspy noise, pops and growls but still not too loud. Made a definate increase in power - the car pulls stronger, the turbo seems to spool up quicker and definately gives me a bigger smile every time I drive over just the BB!!!!

AFAIK Roadrunner are the only ones that have the centre without the resonator, not sure how many they have left!!

Cheers
Neil.
