Just had a conversation with a friend who had heard something about a new P1 based on a 2 door New Age Impreza Sti which has a six speed gearbox with Steering wheel mounted paddle shift.

Very Interesting...

Maybe their will be a two door Sti? Is it the new 22b that Mellow Yellow was talking about on Scoobynet? Who knows...

Whilst I don't profess to know any more than you, I would have thought that if a 2 door were at all imminent then that is what they would have based the 2001 WRC on, not a 4 door.

As a small aside, I have to say that although I can't seem to like the MY01, next year's WRC is absolutely superb. The old P2000 wing and a revised front bumper, without fog lamps, has transformed the car from the original.

I think that's the way for the after-market boys to go.

The friend said that Prodrive were looking at putting the new six speed paddle-shift gearbox from the new Sti in 'a P1'. Whether this is a new P1 or the old with a 'box transplant - who knows?
