Question

I am thinking about a new BB for MY99. All I seem to read about is SS BB.
What do people think about a Scoobymania BB ? Similar sounds to SS BB ?

Thanks

I've got a full SM system on my car, and have also listened to many a SS systems on my travels. They sound similar, but IMO the differences are the SM has a deeper burble on tickover and is slightly less raspy on full chat. Comparing like for like (i.e. the only silencer in the system is the backbox) the SS is louder.

Its all a matter of personal choice really...performance wise, blimey theres a debate, 3" vs 2.5", twin dump vs single, driveability vs bhp? erm mines bigger than yours etc

IMO get down to a meet and let your ears decide which you prefer sounds-wise

jay m a has the right idea.

The scoobysport penetrated the market first and hence is well established.

Quality wise both are great and guaranteed for life.

My car came with a scoobysport, but for variety I changed to a bpm, which was too loud for me. I settled on a scoobymania for convenience, but now realise it should have been my first choice.

It sounds deeper, has individuality, has a nice interior mesh which makes it look more thought out, even though it is probably only decorative.

The 22B rear bumper has a cut out for the exhaust pipe unlike other scoobs, and the larger scoobymania tailpipe sits in this (with modification) filling it perfectly. It is also cut back at exactly teh same angle as the bumper receeds so it looks factory.

It sounds great, but then so did the scoobysport. I am happy with mine as it is also a bit different.

It's not Decorative , it keeps the outside of the tail pipe cooler than it normally would be, prevents temp induced colouration of the tail pipe. (And it looks good).

Mike.

Mike, how does your SM system compare to that from MRT in Oz, only i saw you are their agents / distributor in the UK.

I don't know whether it is easier for me to get a Jap pipe or one from MST / SM / SS etc.

Cheers,
brian
