I've had the car (MY97 with quickshift) since the beginning of September.
It's just started to make a really annoying vibrating sound that eminates from the gear stick when the revs go above 3k (in any gear). It's almost like there's something rattling round in the actual gear *** but if I push the rubber gator down the rattling stops?

Very strange. Any idea's?

Unhappy

Tried that quite a few times as I was sure that's what was causing it but sadly it isn't the cause.

I can't understand why pushing the gater down should stop the noise.

P.S. I can't feel any added vibration, just the annoying noise
