I've had the car (MY97 with quickshift) since the beginning of September.
It's just started to make a really annoying vibrating sound that eminates from the gear stick when the revs go above 3k (in any gear). It's almost like there's something rattling round in the actual gear nob but if I push the rubber gator down the rattling stops?

Very strange. Any idea's?

I would try tightening up the gear knob, I had this problem the other day :)

Tried that quite a few times as I was sure that's what was causing it but sadly it isn't the cause.

I can't understand why pushing the gater down should stop the noise.

Now discovered it has piston slap as well as a rattling nob, not a good day :(:(:(
