Dumb question is it round or oval for MY99

Round.
All the PPP backboxes are round; the oval ones are the WR versions that Subaru/Prodrive sell seperately. You can't get (officially) the round bb without the PPP>

Kwack,
Its round, approx 3.5" diameter, with Prodrive engraved on the top side of the tailpipe.
The WR sport version is oval.
The PPP back box is not available seperately, but you may be able source one secondhand, a I did.
