HI my
98my makes a ticking nose when you rev it just obove tickover
it comeing from a relay near the air box should it be replaced or should it do this.........ANY COMENT THANKS

 

hi mate,
is this noise when the engine is cold,as the car revs its a sort of 'diesel engine' sound?
if it is look at my question in general questions called 'piston slap'.
i have had a lot of helpful replies.

HI MATE THIS IS COMEING FROM THE RELAY THAT CONTROLS THE PIPE OF THE WASTE GATE...?????THINK ITS DUN FOR.DOSENT OVER BOST JUST MAKES A LOUD TICK,THANKS FOR THE IMPUT

 

Don't worry, it is supposed to make a noise. My MY98 does it and so do many others. Some are noisy some aren't.

Mine ticks aswell, not half as much as the exhaust after a good blast
