I keep hearing a knocking noise from the rear of the car. It's not there all the time . i checked my wheel nuts to make sure they were tight ( which they were) .
It sounds like metal hitting metal . The location of noise is passenger side at the rear ( opposite side to fuel tank) .

Has anyone got any suggestions what it is before i take it to a subaru dealer .

still be under warrenty at that age, take it back and get it looked at, not worth worrying about it if you can get someone else to pay to sort any problem

 

i had one of these turned out to be the jack moving in its slot but that was on a classic
