Default Possible boost problem?

My freind bought a prodrive scooby today uk model. Looks well, sounds the part ect. Took it for a test drive fine, so he bought it. On the way home on the m-way decide to stretch it's legs a bit and:
When you put it to go it starts boosting fine then it's as if it shuts down for a split second then goes again but it's quite vilent when it happens. Also it feels like there is a slight miss when it comes on boost. However if you gently ease on the power it doesn't seem to happen as much.
I thought maby it's running to much boost But i've never had anything to do with scoobys befor so i could be wrong.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like fuel cut due to over boost, does it have a dawes or a manual boost controller of somesort?, look under the bonnet and see if there is a brass looking thingy near the turbo area...

don't think it has got manual boost controler but i'll check in the moring, i've done a bit of research on here and it seems like a common problem, sounds like the boost solinoid needs cleaning. Does any1 have a picture of it also is there any sort of procedure i need to follow?
