I know tyres with stiffer side walls help. I've got Eagle F1's at the moment.

Hi

I have commented on your problems in general, i ran two sets of f1's on my MY99 with the stock 16" rims and had absolutely no problems with them - especially not grip wise event when well worn, hot or cold dry or wet!

Have you checked your pressures at a couple of different places?

I've been running F1s on 16 for a few years, and not had any real problems.

The most recent set took an age to bed in (not helped with all the cr*ap on the road over New Year). They do need a few psi more than some tyres to be at their best - I run 33-34 psi.

Yes, tyre pressures are correct and been checked. I think the condition of some of the roads in cambridgeshire this winter is very poor and doesn't help.

I have Eagle F1s on my MY99. Very impressed with them. I believe there is an issue on a certain size of 17 inch wheel whereby the load rating isnt sufficent for Scoobies, which can cause the sidewalls to split, but this should not be a problem with 16inch rims, which are available in the appropriate load rating.
