Just checked the oil on the car, and it's low. Only oil I have is Mobil 1 fully synthetic 0W-40. On the service it says they used 5-40. My question is would it be ok to mix different grades?

 

Not ideal but as a temporary solution you will be OK. They reckon that the different addatives in different oils can conflict so consider a full oil/filter change in the near future maybe.

 

It will only take a small amount to bringt it up to the E mark I am assuming?

No bother chuck it in! Better than oil too low .......

Pleeeeeeeze don't ask which oil you should put in come service time though!!
