Default Squeaky breaks.... Again!

Anyone else with a new age sti have this problem?? My 03 sti has been back to subaru three times now and still they squeak. They have cleaned all the discs and pads then glazed them, skimmed the rear discs and now they are running out of ideas. They don't want to skim the fronts as they are only a couple of months old and he reckons it's abit extreme! He said it might just be one of those things that you have to put up with.

They only start to squeak when they have warmed up, after about 10mins of driving. Any ideas?

Cheers.

David.

I have brakes that grind. It's done it pretty much from day one, i thought the pads were low or something. Been to the garage and they dismantled and cleaned it all up, apparently. But said that dirt and brake dust or something could be getting in there and causing it, it's also something i should live with, although i'd rather not. After a few miles it was to the same.

So i've just got to turn the stereo up even louder. Great! Turn it up one notch extra to drown out the dash creaks and rattles, then another for the brakes. Top car this!! I forgive it for now...

I do love this car but the silly little problems i've been having are starting to annoy me. The squeaky breaks being top of the list!!!
I got the car in september and since then it's had to have new rear shocks, new pads and discs at the front and a new battery.

Is there any better pads out there i could buy which might stop the annoying squeak?

Cheers guys.

David.

in days gone by, advice when fitting brake pads was to add a little copper slip grease to the REAR of the pads, otherwise vibration under braking would cause squeal. perhaps moddern cars dont need this treatment? or the subaru spanner monkeys are crap.

Trying nailing them a few times when warm. Good hard 70-30 slow downs maybe 5-6 times, then drive for 10 mins at about 50mph without touching them if possible.....

Like yours Gaz mine have started to grind. Thought pads needed replacing but after reading your post not too sure now. Will let the dealer have a look next week when they have a look at the top mounts!!!
