Yesterday wen i removed my intercooler, i noticed a bit of oil in the pipe that comes from the turbo to intercooler and then also in the large exit pipe from the intercooler....

Should i be worried?

last time i took it off to change my downpipe i didnt notice this....

ive got a 2001 bugeye.

Quite normal I believe. you will find a light coating of oil in the intercooler as well.

 

A light oil film and the odd drip is nothing to worry about.

If it's dripping out with oil though, it may indicate a problem with either crankcase pressurisation or a turbo problem.

 

ok, its not exactly drippin but maybe a bit more than a light coating...... if i put my finger inside the oulet from the turbo i'd get a nice bit of oil on my finger.....

I wasn't sure if it was maybe the oil seals in the turbo going or something, definately more oil than about 7months ago when i changed the downpipe tho!

Maybe the turbo seals, does it smoke a bit ?

My 200SX had a bit of oil in the inlet and started to smoke, strangely though, it went away and ran for another 60K miles.
