Default Not boosting properly! 01 wrx

for some reason my car has decided to go slow!

normally if i put my toe down in 3rd at low rpm you can hear the turbo spool up then really get into its stride, for some reason it only seems like its boosting half way. i havent got a boost guage on at the min cause i removed it months ago. but my car definately has lost power.

Can my car go into limp mode even if ive got a dawes?? boost is set at 15psi and i have got a full decat. (dont know how it could restrict boost)

Recently my car has been a bit hesitant on boost, but put it down to it needing new plugs which are due to be changed next week.

Any help?

Check the small breather hole in the dawes device

use a small needle to clear out any residue

a full decat will not restrict boost it will increase flow and the turbo will start spool up at lower revs

My CEL has been on for a while now since decat due to emissions but when i checked tonight i had a camshaft position sensor fault and also a wastegate control solenoid faul too.....

With me having the dawes this would bipass the wastgate control solenoid wouldn't it?

I have reset the ecu and since had no more codes after a 10 minute drive, but its still not boosting properly. I will try and clean the dawes tomorrow to see if this sorts it out, its been a little hesitant between 2 and 3.5k on WOT for the past week, but after 3/4k rpm it was fine.

anybody else had this problem?

Cheers,

Bri

A quick test would be to drive the car warm and then disconnect the lower end of the dawes. Try once - only once! - to hit the throttle in 3th and se if it boost if it does - clean the Dawes (never actually tried that) and reconnect it - if not - you have another problem.
