Totally agree there mate cos since switching to tesco 99 ive been hitting that brick wall alot and now im having my gearbox re-built - coincindence maybe but not sure (MY94 WRX STI)

It is an 11 year old high performance car, most likely wear and tear- the people rebuilding it should be able to tell you for sure.
