A few more things to consider...

1. Flywheel needs to be skimmed for definate. (as already mentioned)
2. What release bearing was used, as some classic UK cars were fitted with a naff one, I think you have to use the STi release bearing...? My brother had a standard new bearing fitted along with his new clutch to a UK MY98 and was just as bad as before!!
3. Also a bit of a long shot, but you havn't installed uprated engine mounts have you as this can cause drivetrain judder. If they are standard subaru ones then disregard this.

Cheers, Kim.

IMO:
A light skim to freshen the face does not need a flywheel balance. An authority on this is David at www.apiengines.com
I changed my clutch from stock unit (Sti v3) without skimming and it was perfect from day 1. I installed an AP Organic.
I have raced on it for 2 years/6K miles and is still perfect.

Recently fitted Group N stiffer engine mounts and gearbox mount and the clutch is no different to before.

If you are in the mood, i would pull the box and skim as this way you will be back to 'as new'. If it judders then allow it to 'run in'.

The Legacy I think is a cable clutch? If so, is this adjusted right?

Graham.
