Default steering problem

i have a slight scratching sound when turn the steering wheel at low speeds, this mostly happens when turning at junctions etc.
it also happens turning both ways, but there is no noise over 10mph
the noise it self seems to be coming from inside the cabin, and i have checked inside the arches and there seems to be no problems there
there is no noise when the car is standing still and the steering wheel is turned from lock to lock. please help!

have you done anything with the heatshield nr the turbo recently? I had a similar problem when I changed my downpipe and put the heatshield back on, it was just catching on the steering rack giving the same kind of symptom that you are experiencing.
