Question Self Shutdown on a MY93 ECU

Anyone know what would cause the ecu to activate its 'self shutdown'.

I have traced my current problem to a pin on the ecu that is described as 'self shutdown'. This pin should (in normal use) be 12v. It supplies the main relay with it's 12v switch. It is currently reading 9.97v, so not enough to activate the main relay.

Any ideas?

Mike

I dunno about electronics as you know mike, but, 'if' the belt went, could the sensors reading their respective signals and the fact that they'd be out of sync not make the ecu shutdown as a safety measure.....

Maybe????
