Cool

I had my door mirrors painted silver to match the body colour on my 2000 Impreza. After about a month small bubbles started to appear in the paint,I thought it was just dust but it kept getting worse.I brought them back to where I got them sprayed and initially I was told they were over heated when they were drying. But they were sprayed again and they are fine now and I was told that it was the Subaru plastic that was causing the problems.Any ideas?

Cause was probably that the incorrect primer was used. You need different primer for different plastics, I had mine painted six months ago using correct plastic primer and it's been fine.

Question

If it's an MY00 Impreza then the wing mirrors should've been colour coded as standard. Or else someone is pulling your leg.

Well my car is an Irish Impreza 1.6 and thats why they dont come painted.I had the door handles painted too and they are fine. But in fairness the body shop that painted them, dont seem too concerned about perfection.
On my next car I will take it elsewhere to have the work done.
