Default Best turbo for 330-350bhp?

I have an sti 4 which is standard apart from a H&S decat system and uprated ebc discs and pads. It was rolling roaded at PE and produced 293bhp/253lb/ft of torque. That was before the decat too!
I want to increase the power, but its the extra 'driveability' that i'm after. I don't want to fit a bigger turbo that is going to take an eternity to spool up.

Would my VF24 be ok for roughly 330bhp/330ft/lbs? If yes, then i'll just consentrate on extra cooling and an apexi fc.

Cheers peeps

Agreed, or maybe an 18G with less boost?

Either way, the person above can supply what you need

The 16G is tempting. With the turbo (exchange) and apexi fc from andy f, that comes to around £1000. Will I need other supporting mods such as fuel pump/reg etc? As I said, i'm not aiming above 350bhp, as this starts to cost mega bucks.

Fuel pump, FPR, intercooler, filter...

then consider bits that may or may not last that long; clutch, gearbox

Does the V4 use 2-pots? If so, a brake upgrade would be a good idea.

Or you could go for 300-330bhp on your existing turbo and keep the costs down.

when i had a vf24 decat front mount 440 fuel reg walbro with a remap i had 332bhp/321lb and it flew i did a 12.8/104 at the pod
from what i can see you probably only need a front mount and remap to get what you want

Sti 4's should have 4 pot calipers

Yes, I do have 4 pots, with ebc discs and red stuff pads. Was trying to avoid the front mount intercooler route, not keen on chopping my bumper to bits + having extra lag. However I do understand that by reducing the inlet temps, I gain power anyway.

I'd keep the VF24 and fit an Sti 7-9 TMIC and uprated fuel pump, then remap via an ECU of your choice This will make for a very quick road car with plenty midrange.
You may get another 10-15 bhp from the TD05 although it will be around 200-300 rpm later coming on boost.

Thanks for the advice andy, thats what I like to hear! Hows yourself and your motor??
Not to bad I hope?
How hard are the 7-9 sti topmounts to fit? My Father and I run our own ForkLift Truck Firm, eg; hire, repair, service etc. So I have access to all kinds of engineering resources.

I'm fine thanks, car just needs the rear 1/4 pulling out, the rest is just bolt on stuff.

If you look at Grahams (911) project thread, he has done the later Sti swap.

Might be of use ?

If you want over 330hp, then choose your rolling road first. Perhaps get a baseline on a dynodynamics rolling road or you may be dissapointed further down the line.

To be honest, I just want the car to feel ballistic out of the corners. I'm not looking to achieve a certain figure, just as long as I can feel the difference. I doubt the de-cat has given much of an increase in power on the dyno, but I can 'feel' the difference.

Looks abit too 'messy' for my liking, (no offense 911!), maybe aquamist combined with a larger intercooler scoop would be as effective??
