Default How do u classify an import...

Basically, are EU imported 215bhp cars insured as uk turbos? or do u insure them as imports (wrx) im after a uk turbo but will i end up paying wrx money if i get an import???

I think you have to declare that the car is an import. But its NOT a jap import, so you will not be paying WRX money.

You will have to stress that it is basically the same spec as a UK turbo. I think there are some differences, one of them being the alarm. UK turbos got a CAT 1 Thatcham approved alarm as standard.

Call around, you should find an insurer that will not charge you much difference compared to the UK car.

the ***** not in my court really mate im only 21 with 6 points! there is only a few companies that will insure me on a subaru and there is only one under the 1.5k barrier! the next closest is over 2k!!!

To insurers there is no difference with parallel imports as long as they are 'full UK spec'.. you won't be paying any more, but do declare it..

I have an EU import...it's exactly the same spec as the UK car and i had a Cat1 alarm fitted so there's no difference at all...so not even bothered telling them
