I am currently having my equal length tubular headers ceramic coated while the engine is out (again!).
The rest of my system is a TSL pulse extraction system (absolutely AWESOME!!!) and I wondered if it would be worth having that done maybe at a later stage?
Anyone on here had it done already?
Cheers Guys

The idea behind any exhaust heat coating is both to keep under bonnet temperatures down and to keep gas speed up within the exhaust system.
With this in mind it's really only of any worth to treat the downpipe section of the exhaust. It could ofcourse be beneficial should you wish to retain the heat further down the system perhaps for a catalytic convertor placed further downstream.

mine's fully coated, you can just about hold it with gloves straight after use
didn't do mine myself so wouldn't know where abouts to get it done, someone mentioned to me just last week that he was quoted 35 quid per ft to have it done
Roger Clarke Motorsport/Team Ice's drag car has a fully coated system, maybe ask them

At the moment its just my Headers and Up Pipe. I think I will do the rest of my system at a later stage.
Mind you my headers and up pipe were not cheep to coat by any means!

This process is not cheap. I have had it done before by Camcoat in Warrington. Now I rely on exhaust wrapping unless it is for something coming from the USA where they call it "Jet Wash" and is reasonably priced.
There is another company doing a lot of motorsport bits in the Silvertone area but I have forgotten the name.
Whatever you do, do not exhaust on top of ceramic coat. The retained temperatures are so high that you may destroy whatever you have wrapped.

I run both on my iON headers. Harvey - was it the iON that failed on you? I've had no problems, but I also had to completely re-engineer the up-pipe to take the stress out of all the joins......

Hi Richard :It was the Ion headers that I got coated here in the UK, not sent over coated. I think yours are a different design to mine and were supplied coated?
Do you have a link to the Oz company with the dual temp senders please.

Hi Mikee: I see you are going fast now. Good results from the power. Well done mate.
I now DEI exhaust wrap everything as that gives very good results and is clearly more cost effective. if i am buying from the US, then I will get it "jet Washed" prior to delivery.

Hi Harvey, they were different from Bob's definitely, and they came coated so I guess different from yours too. Jaycar meter is at http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...Max=&SUBCATID= - shipping is not too bad either. Buy all my electronics stuff from them.
