How is the Honda newer ? and what old platform is the new 9-3ss based on ?

Remember the 1.8t SAAB is a 2.0 litre but with a low pressure Turbo, i would go with the SAAB and upgrade the ECU for £400 and take it from 150 BHP upto 185 BHP.
This then takes it to the same power output as the 2.0t.

The Honda is a decnt car but dont be fooled by the 2.4 Type S into thinking it goes well, it doesnt, now if they produced a Type R then that is another story.

Actually, £500 gets you 204bhp and lots more torque. No hardware required.

This turns it into an Aero - lots of fun especially if the 1.8t has shorter gearing. 9-3SS handles v.well.

Honda will be more reliable I'd say.

A friend is considering a similar choice of cars..... They are a couple that have made his short-list from the huge list he was given by BT to choose from!!

Having driven a 9-3 Aero for a while I can say it was a quick car and extremely comfortable inside. Handling wasnt too shabby either, would say its on par with our MY04 A4 1.8T S-Line.

Have heard quite a few problem stories with Saab since they came under the "GM Wing" though......... It seems they arent quite surviving to 200k miles with nothing but servicing and consumables, which is a shame.

Cheers,
Grant
