Default Legal Advice

Hi, all need some advice for a friend.

He bought a W plate Fiat Punto about 8 weeks ago with a 12month warranty. And so far its been back to the garage 5 times for various problem, all engine related. (oil light, oil leaks, blue smoke now) Apparently they claim to have fixed the problem, but it comes back with additional 'features'.

The garage are now sayin the car needs a new engine, and although they are willing to replace it, can he demand his money back on the basis they have sold him a crocked car to start with.

cheers

Possibly, but he may be lucky and they may offer a goodwill gesture (especially if he threatens to contact watchdog etc).

I suppose you could argue that the car is not fit for the purpose?!?

The garage had been very unhelpful and unwilling to help until legal action was threatened...

Apparently the were only missing a hat and spurs...
