Will I need to change my clutch on 04 WRX if the power was changed to around 280bhp.

Wanted to know as Im a bit of a tight **** and dont really want to spend money on uprating the clutch just yet.

It will let you know!

You should be ok with that, but it depends on how you drive it as to how long it will last. Too many emergency starts may see it off though

clutches fail as standard.

to find out if your will last, multiply the external air temperature by the number of garins of salt in your last pinch, divided by the age you first went swimming with your mates.

(its a lottery)

If it puts your mind at rest, you are only about 15bhp higher than a wrx with ppp. That uses a standard clutch. You should be fine.

I run a standard bugeye clutch at about 370BHP and 300 odd torque with sympathy , Ninnybobs runs his at 400 BHP bugeye on a standard clutch and this includes dragging it. Ninnybobs recently changed his clutch to ........another OEM one

Faster

The wife drove me to Brampton to the Docs last week when I blinded myself by poking my eye out on a stick (not recommended...LOL)

Which is exactly what my wife gave the Scooby......lots of stick AAARGH !!

OOOOOOOO !!! she said as she applied the brakes hard enough to lock the seatbelts, then accelerated hard enough to set off the red shift light (STi clocks) and the red light on the Defi boost gauge !!

It's a good job I could only see out of one eye.......LOL

I started a thread on this a while back...

Clutch Life Survey

Midlife..
My mrs is the same. I put myself on a 3-4 on the clutch abuse scale, when I asked her she said a solid 8 easy. mmm "Well theres a few bad junctions I have to pull out of..." ...Really? I never noticed them.
Good driver though in fairness, (for a girl).
