Default car redlining on 4,000 rpm????

i just installed a short ram intake for my 93 subaru impreza
now i cant get my car to go past the 4,000 rpm

what seems to be the problem? could it be
1. fuel pump
2. the air flow sensor that is not attached with it
3. car cant handle too much air
or 4. something else?

have you re-connected everything you disturbed when fitting your kit??

your car has probably gone into 'limp' mode.......................

You may find that what your getting is fuel cut ?
When you say won't rev over 4000rpm does it stop ? as if its been turned off ?
People have experienced this when doing intake mods due to the MASS of air over the maf.
Another discription may help.

MAF is not connected
when i push the car over 4,000 rpm it starts to stop there and the car shakes back & forth

beats me what the problem is then...

your car is in limp home mode cos a sensor is unplugged. it's limiting at 4000rpm and your boost will only be 7 or 8 pounds to minimise serious harm to the engine.

Already stated the fault .... maf is not connected hence problem, ecu needs to see air flow through it for this to stop.

Are you kidding me? Let it be your only mod too, until you learn a bit how your car works. It's cheaper that way
