Question question for 6 speed box users

I have had a 6 speed fitted to my classic but the garage left off the pitch stop mount. I have obtained a new mount but it will not mate up to the gearbox. On fitting your 6 speed boxes, did you remove a bracket from the 5 speed and fit it onto the 6 speed? If so, any pics?

Many thanks

Nathan

I fitted a STi8 box to a MY00, and didn't need to alter the bracket or the mount - It just fitted straight on.

In what way does the mount not fit on your box?

Nope, we just used the 6 speed pitch mount and it all bolted up to the original body mount.

So does the 6 speed mount differ from the 5 speed mount? I have the 5 speed mount but where the mount meets the gearbox, it does not fit. There is a raised 'lump' on the box that has a hole through the centre of it(horizontally). To me, it looks as though to mount wants to sit over the top of this 'lump' and then the bolt runs through the lot. Will try to get a photo as its hard to explain.

I used the original 5 speed mount, that has always been on the car...

and the 6 speed bracket, which came fitted to the box.

A pic would help.

I think it is the bracket that I am missing. David at API is gonna send me a bracket to try. Fingers crossed!

Re-reading your post above, it does sound like you are missing the gearbox bracket.

Unhappy

Have just picked up my new bracket from subaru
http://tinypic.com/a5atzd.jpg

but it wont line up! It bolts to the box fine but the part for the pitch stop to bolt to is off-set
http://tinypic.com/a5auqw.jpg

the mount on the box

has anybody got a pic of the bracket fitted to their box or, better still, a part number?

Thanks

Nathan

Nathan, that looks like the 5 speed bracket, not the 6 speed...my 6 speed bracket is not painted, just plated IIRC.

I'll take a pic in the morning for you.

Nathan, you may have muddled up th description of what you wanted, the Uk300 was NOT an Sti, it was a WRX based limited edition....

definitely the wrong bracket fella.

Just looked in a new age we have here and as has been said above the bracket is plated and not black.
It bolts to the box via both sets of holes shown in your first pic.
