Tesco's cheap import insurance
#1
Just to let everyone know (in the UK) that Tesco's offered me the best insurance quote for my STI V. This was £607 with full no claims, clean license and £1000 excess (the next cheapest was Prviliege at £686 - the most expensive was Bell Direct and Adrian Flux, both in the £1000 range !!!!!). They (Tesco's) also required a Tracking device to be fitted, as do most insurance companies now days. I chose the AA Tracker (£400) which I should recoup my costs at next year renewal, if the insurance does not shoot up.

Hi JayRaj,
I am 33, have full NCB, clean licence and no accidents etc.
I also "volunteered" a £1000 excess which brought it down a lot (from £1000). If I took off my protected no-claims it would bring it down another £90. They also required a Tracker.

They quoted on my girlfriends Skoda
(dont laugh superb car for the purpose)
Read the small print ours was limited to 10,000 miles with a supplement when reached, they would not commit on what the supplement was.!
My thoughts were wouldn't waste my time with them again, they were late sending the paperwork by two weeks having even promised special delivery.
Result, car sat on drive for 2 weeks that she couldn't drive as unsure if actually insured or not.
very unprofessional in my opinion.
Wouldnt touch them with a xxitty stick.
Backed by priviledge I believe, who were great when I was insured with them.
