Very much doubt that it has just had a cosworth engine fitted, would like to see pictures to prove me wrong though. Too many reasons to state why it wouldn't have one and I don't have the time or the inkling to type out why

Bullsh*t springs to mind, not being rude but 600 bhp from a dealer fitted engine, i know Cosworth do parts for this engine but i still don't think it all adds up.

As well as the pics, post the full spec.
Considering ChistianR wants £25k for his 600ish car, this one seems a snip, if his HP claims are genuine*
* is it hell

hey, at least he's not selling a 550 HP car in the title, then saying "erm, well it isn't at the mo"
No hang on, he's selling a car with a spare 600HP engine in bits
You people should refresh your sales technique

If you read carefully the description says that his mates car is pushing 600 hp which could just be him pushing a McLaren F1 bumper to bumper.
That's about the only way MOST lmprezas will ever push 600 hp.
I think there may be a little hp inflation in the description.

hang on there, you are being unfair.
Only reason my engine is not running 550bhp is because I chose to change the turbo, not because the engine that once did it is in pieces.
The map is still sitting in the ecu, change the turbo back to GT35R and flick the switch and there you have it 550 of each. None of this rebuilding other engines to be fitted.
That said my car is not for sale anyway, so it makes no difference what the blurb says.
ps. returning to 550+ bhp very soon indeed!

Cosworth pistons and other oily bits, yes, perhaps the engine has been rebuilt using such items, that is possible, but a whole cosworth engine, as in from a Sierra/Escort cosworth? Somehow I doubt it. It might be possible to do, but why? Plus the "main dealer" bit gets me. One assumes he means Subaru Dealer, in which case, what on earth would a Subaru Dealer a) know about Ford engines, b) be doing installing a Ford engine into a Subaru, c) rebuilding an engine with non-standard subaru spec parts. As far as I'm aware a main dealer, and I mean your normal Subaru dealer here, not a specialist type place, would not rebuild/upgrade engines (never really used a main dealer, so not sure if they do to be honest).
As for the price, well, very good if it really is 600bhp, but I don't buy it. I think it'd cost you 8.5k for a fully sorted 600bhp engine, including labour, fitting, remaps etc...
I'd love to see some engine shots, I really would.
If I have to eat humble pie, I'll do that too.

I think 8.5k for a propper 600bhp engine of any make / kind / shape would be cheap tbh
