Ever since ive had my 98 uk turbo there has been a shudder when you change down gears ( slowing down with gears) which is mostly in 3rd to 2nd. ive asked loads of people at subaru dealers and subaru specialist and non of them can tell me what is doing it. The cluch was changed about 15k ago and the car has done about 80k, there is no metal bits in the gear oil as i have changed it thinking it was a internal problem.

One thing that i have seen is that there was a recall on all 89 uk turbo impreza for a new locking nut in 1st and 2nd gear and also a new fly wheel was fited can any one shed any more light on any of this as its bugging be as to why the gear box is shuddering but no one can tell me why. Can any one help??

could be prop saft center bearing
most likley to be clutch get new one fitted under warranty

 

its not a violent shudder and it only happens as you relise the cluch going down gears like from 3-2 .
could it be a unevern worn fly wheel the subaru deleler told me that all imprezas should have been recalled and a new fly wheel put on but why hid did not no?
