Default My Scooby V Audi RS 6 estate.. hmm..

Deleted because to many people will jump on the thread thinking its wrong to accerlate up to the limit and i cant be doing with arguing with people trying to cause trouble.

But the fact was the Audi didnt have the acceleration of my scooby, well chuffed.

trust me, it caused to much trouble on another forum becaue they all decided that accerlerating quickly on a dual carriage way along side another car was so wrong it deserved a slagging off....

Saying that i have just read the thread on here about the scooby against the M3 a couple threads down, that got a good reception from everyone on here.

Stuff like this does get slated a lot on THAT forum mate, and I don`t really know why.

People are just a bit too quick to presume it`s some sort of road-racing thread, which I find amusing, because, TBH, it`s not like any of us buy these fast cars to pootle about in ALL the time.

yea the result was that the Audi RS6 couldnt keep up, he tried and tried several times and i was always just that bit further ahead I honestly expected him to do much better.

Maybe the driver didnt know his car to well.

What scooby you got mate? If it weighs 1230kg wouldn't that be the UK Classic? Has it been modified?

The scoob will feel faster mainly because of the gearing, but also because of the kick when the turbo comes in one of the most satisfying things about driving a scoob.

The RS6 is geared higher and the "slur" between gear changes means the car just seems to pull continuosly without the on/off power delivery of a scoob on a charge.
There is one turbo per cylinder bank.

So you could only beat them to about 100 and then yours runs out of revs yeah?

450bhp or whatever the RS6 has should be more than enough to see off most scoobs.

i wasnt racing from 100. more like 50-120mph

mine being 2/3 the weight may have something to do with it,as usual!

it may have more power but it has nearly the same bhp/tonne and mine

also mine has 140bhp per litre to audi 112bhp per litre.just figures

Fair comment I still think 450bhp will be more than enough to see off most scoobs and yours for that matter after 120mph

Mind you I have seen a couple of them understeering their way around a race circuit.

I'd still have one

A 280BHP classic at 1230kg probably wouldn't be far off a standard RS6 227BHP/ton for the scoob vs 242 BHP/ton for the RS6.
Virtually every tuning company in the country can safely bring them up to 500+, which totally transforms the car, 270+BHP/ton

You must be good at making very quick standing starts. I've got an RS6 avant, and with the tiptronic box it's normally pretty easy to be 50m up the road before the driver next to you has even started moving.

Gary.

I need to get this off my chest.

It seems to have become fashionable to criticise people that drive their cars quickly.

What really annoys me is that these critics come onto forums like Scoobynet, to bleat about how "irresponsible" said drivers are and how "dangerous" it all is.

Holy Mother of God! Why would any sane person, who has an aversion to quick driving and performance motoring, own a Scoob and frequent Scoobynet? Seriously, why? It reminds me of the people who write into Points of View whinging about the graphic sex scenes and gratuitous violence in the film that they have just watched for an hour and a bloody half!

I like driving quickly in a car that is designed for this purpose. When the conditions allow I WILL drive enthusiastically. To the nannies, I'm off for a blat in my motor................

I was in my mates 240bhp WRX following an RS6 at about 50-60 - as the road split into duel-carriageway my mate went to pass the RS6, but then it just accelerated off and completely thrashed the Scooby - never seen anything out accelerate it that convincingly.

This was from about 60-100+, and I'd be very surprised if many Subaru's other than WRX PPP's would be keeping up.
