To throw the cat among the pigeons, my UK 03 WRX required Super Unleaded, there's a little sticker on the inside of the door saying 98 RON fuel only

 

I think it's a case of super if you want it to run to Subaru's performance figures , but you will not harm it if run on 95 ron if it's standard , it might feel smoother and a bit more responsive on 98ron though.
