17" wheels on Classic Impreza
I have a 2000 V Impreza Turbo, with standard 16" Subaru alloys.
I want to upgrade them to 17" Impreza alloys with 215/45 ZR17 87W tyres.
Does anyone know if these will these fit the car or will they be too big.
Also, any idea by how much this will affect the insurance?
Thanks.

Technically the correct size is 205/45/17 (recommended by Prodrive IIRC), or 215/40/17 which is the more widely available alternative.
215/45/17 is the size for the newage car, which is slightly bigger and will result in a change in both gearing and speedo accuracy if you fit it to a classic. If you're fitting the wheels off a newage car too, check the offset - it's different, and you may find that the combination of incorrect offset and tyre size does cause rubbing sometimes. Be especially careful if you've lowered the car at all.
Finally, even though the size marking is the same, be aware that some makes of tyres can rub while others don't.
I'd stick to the recommended size myself, or at least find someone with exactly the same wheel & tyre combination to check first.
