normally something like an old mineral base 20/50, etc..............do NOT stress the car at any time with this oil in!!!

to be honest you only really need a pukks arunning in oil when you have had major components replaced, what have you had done??? normally a cheap 10w40 will do the job..........

crank reground, was knockin badly..heads all refurbed etc

all rebuilt up, made me a nervous wreck..lol...

am keepin it under 50 and not over 4 thou..

only reason i ask is i started her up after a few days being sat and i was a little worrid as my over sensitive ears thought they heard veeeeery slight knock on the start of slightly revving up... from i think no1?..osf of car...when stone cold..went when warm.....just makin me nervous after a month or two of stress doin it all...only could hear under the hood....also the old boost solenoid ticks its **** off which i have researched and is apparently normal....

thought bit of piston slap but the thickness of that oil cant help when cold...

only in for a thou tho.....

thanku for replying!...dont normally have much luck on here.

was gona go japfest but its a long way for me 3hours...and shes not run in yet

doh.

cheers chris

We recommend a 15w-50 mineral oil for 1000 miles than change to fully synthetic.
