Am i safe to order an import over the phone and pay for it without even viewing it first???

Can you trust import companies to give you a decent example after paying for it??

Anyone done this?
ive got jitters before i part with the money and do'nt want to be ripped off!!

 

I think you'd be mad to do it... I nearly did the same thing: I saw a real nice looking Toyota Supra - it had the full Aerokit bodykit , leather interior, twin turbo, lots of other goodies. The pictures of it looked stunning.

The wife made me get an RAC inspection done on it (which I didn't want to do) - but I was so glad that I did in the end - the thing was falling to bits - engine problems, body work not as good a condition as the pictures made out, the HPI check showed some interesting differences in mileages, and also found out that the chassis number had been modified...

I had a real job to get my deposit back from them...

All this from a supposedly trustworthy importer in the North East

In the end, I ended up getting a UK WRX - havn't looked back since!

Just looks like ive got to travel then to actually look myself.
i better consider RAC inspections as well i spose.
