petrol tank question
Will an 02 plate WRX have some kind of "Baffles"in the petrol tank to stop the fuel sloshing around and not being pumped on through the fuel lines??
I was out with my mate yesterday and one of the guys WRX in front momentarly(sp) cut out,he put it down to "not enough fuel in the tank"???!!
I am under the impression that this would not be the case, as if it was the car would run lean thus damaging the engine, via a melted piston.Personaly i would have thourght there would be some kind of baffle in the tank to stop this?????
thanks in advance

It is rarely an issue unless you are generating high g's on track, and tbh I don't think I've ever had any probs on the road, but on track you can get surge with anything less than half a tank.
I've recently experienced it in my 05 WRX, wringing it 90 degrees round a roundabout (almost turning 180), took the exit (another 90 pretty much) and it cut out, then cut back in again.
I had about a quarter of a tank (was on my way to fill up) - I'm never doing that again; it felt like the drive train hated it most, but I'm sure the engine didn't enjoy it either.
Beware!
(edit; all of this was below the 60 mph speed limit for that roundabout officer; remember, speed kills)
