sti back box compatibility

Morning,
I have the chance of getting an STI back box from a MY00 STI V6, will this be straight swap for the standard 'box on my my97?

Thanks. It's got to look better than the golf-like double-barrelled 'box presently on.
Won't it improve the sound at all?
