When i put my footdown in second the boost feels a bit on and off, its alright in every other gear. Any idea's any one ?

a little more detail may help...............any mods, exactly what happens, do you have a boost gauge fitted to note as it changes??

Say hello to the dreaded boost cut! It's emissions related nonsense. Basically, if you're driving off boost then floor it in 2nd, this replicates the conditions of the emmissons test. To get the Scooby through they had to program the ECU to retard boost (by just under half IIRC ) in such conditions. There are ways to drive around it. If you're accelerating through the gears such that you're on boost in second after you change out of first gear, it won't happen. If you lift off slightly and then accelerate, it shouldn't happen and if you've been holding it on boost in second, its unlikely to happen. AFAIK it only happens when you've been driving off boost in second and then floor it.

It's a my99 impreza ive only done the back box and one decat, its just i swear ive only just noticed it start to happen since i got my 18's wheels put on.
